Dalat, with its enchanting beauty, has the power to awaken our senses and inspire us to push our limits. It is here that you will find the extraordinary Hang Nga Guesthouse, also known as the Crazy House. Designed by the talented Vietnamese architect and impressionist, Dang Viet Nga, this unique structure has garnered international recognition and is considered one of the world’s most creative buildings.
About Crazy House
The Crazy House is a testament to the boundless imagination of its creator. Its non-rectilinear shapes and unconventional design have earned it a place in the list of the world’s most remarkable architectural wonders. Featured in numerous international architectural journals, the Crazy House has captured the hearts of many, including the esteemed Chinese People’s Daily.

Location & History
Nestled at 3 Huynh Thuc Khang St., Ward 3, Dalat City, the House covers an area of approximately 1,600m2. The journey to bring this architectural marvel to life was not an easy one for Architect Nga. Starting from scratch in 1990, she faced numerous challenges, including financial setbacks and rejection from banks. However, her determination prevailed, and she came up with a unique solution: selling tickets to tourists who wished to visit the House. After 18 years and six attempts, her persistence paid off. She not only attained ownership of the House but also received recognition for it as a piece of art. Despite these achievements, Ms. Nga continues to push boundaries and has plans to expand the House with the addition of a communal area.
Unique Architectural Design
The Crazy House is aptly named due to its whimsical and fairy tale-like design. Resembling a tree with its uneven windows and tunnel-shaped stairways, it captivates visitors with its organic forms and the absence of right angles. As you explore the House, you will be amazed by its labyrinthine hallways and unexpected surprises along the way, such as wild mushrooms and spider webs. Each themed guest room, such as the tiger room, the eagle room, and the ant room, is meticulously designed to reflect different cultures and their symbolism. The richly decorated rooms are adorned with handcrafted furniture, creating a truly immersive experience for guests.

Although officially categorized as a hotel, Hang Nga Guesthouse is more than just a place to stay. It is a living museum that evokes feelings of nostalgia, wonder, and the joys of childhood. Each visitor has a unique interpretation and personal experience within its walls, but they all agree on one thing: this guesthouse is a pure and natural sanctuary that allows them to reconnect with their dreams.
