Welcome to the captivating world of Phong Nha Cavern, the number one cavern in Vietnam that has taken the tourism scene by storm in recent years. Located just 60km away from Dong Hoi City, this natural wonder is a must-visit destination for adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike.
Unveiling the Mystery
Phong Nha Cavern stretches over 20km, but only a section of it, known as Nam Aki, is accessible to visitors. As you approach the East gate, you’ll witness a breathtaking sight where the mountains and the river come together, creating a majestic scene that sparks the imagination. However, during the rainy season, the river’s water level rises, covering the mouth of the cavern, and making it impossible to venture inside.

The cavern’s entrance boasts a width of 20m and a height of 10m. As you step aboard a boat, floating along the river, you’ll be captivated by the incredible view. The cavern resembles an upside-down giant bowl, and the clear water reflects like a mirror. As you delve deeper into the heart of the cavern, the light diminishes, until it vanishes completely. Accompanied by the gentle sound of the floating boat, you’ll feel as if you can hear distant gongs, reminiscent of a divine mountain feast.

A Wonderland Within
Phong Nha is home to more than 20 caves, with its main hall stretching an impressive 1500m. Additionally, there are numerous supplement halls that span hundreds of meters. The outer caves feature ceilings that reach 10m in height, while the inner caves amaze with their towering ceilings of 25-50m.

As you venture further, from the 14th cave onwards, you’ll encounter even larger and more treacherous caves, where the process of stalactite formation is still ongoing. Continuing your adventure on the boat for approximately 800m, you’ll reach the Dried Cave. Here, the mesmerizing shapes and formations of stalagmites and stalactites create a spectacular sight that will leave you in awe.
